<div> <B>We started out in 1996 as the Potteries Organization for Paranormal Investigation, but due to the Global nature of unexplained phenomena we thought a name change and a new start would be in order.POPI as it was called turned out to be the main research body based within Stoke on Trent and the Midlands for that matter to try and catalogue and explain strange phenomena, such as Ghosts, Hauntings and UFO related occurences.Myself and a work associate, Adrian Degg tried to find a local society within our area to join back in the Xmas of 1995 and when we had no joy we decided to form our own Society. I enlisted the help of my then partner, Miss Debra Dobson and a neighbor to kick start the group. Our media coverage was phenomenal and with the help of the Sentinel and Radio Stoke and Signal Radio we kicked of with two lectures at the local University, which were filled to capacity. These were also helped with the assistance of Irene Bott ( SUFOG), she was a keen advocate in the early years and also Eric Morris (BUFOSC).</B></div> <div> <B>We slowly built up our expertise by trial and error, but we never had anything but support from the local media, public and constabulary ( it pays to tell the police you are going on a sky watch I can tell you).</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>We attended Ghost Hunts at</B></div> <bR> <div> <B> The Moat House in Etruria (Josiah Wedgwoods original home)</B></div> <div> <B>Corner Pin Public House - Longton</B></div> <div> <B>The Albion Pub - Longton</B></div> <div> <B>The Red LIon - Nantwich</B></div> <div> <B>plus many more</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>We even were called to investigate the "Beast of Barlaston" - this was supposed to be an escaped Baboon, plus many UFO sightings ( they seem to enjoy the Potteries in August when a glowing ball is often seen in the sky), also an alleged UFO landing in Hanchurch Woods, an Alien Abduction Case as well as a UFO crash at a place called Peacocks Hay in the summer of 1976 - when the RAF were supposed to have created a cover up????</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>With the beginning of a new century/millenium I found that things were stagnating and that I was the only founder member left, I had two choices - either give up or get better, so that's when BPRS came about. The success of POPI is happening all over again, but with the experience of years of work and improved equipment. The membership is growing and we hope to set up branches around the Country, if not the world in time.
